about roxanne
professionally
I have spent most of my career in the oil and gas industry. After beginning my career in the Geophysics group I moved to the Business Communications department where I was instrumental in introducing most of the business technology used by Occidental's Oil and Gas group through the 1990's, including development of their first remote access capabilities and corporate intranet.
I also spent time managing the Oxy help desk before becoming Oxy's web administrator for their corporate intranets in Houston. Prior to moving to Houston to rejoin Occidental in 2005, I administered Enron's intranet at their wind energy project in Tehachapi, California. I also developed and administered the City of Tehachapi's official internet website for over 5 years. While working as a Web Designer between the years of 1998 - 2005, I also did extensive poster and brochure graphic design layouts for Fitnus Corporation before devoting my hours back to Oxy full-time from 2005-2007.
From 2007 to 2009, I expanded my learning with new opportunities as the Web Administrator for The Tagos Group and their business websites. In addition to being a full-time administrator for their websites I also provided IT support company wide. In April of 2009, I was approached with another new opportunity as a Graphic Designer and Web Developer for CB&I to which I am now employed and love the challenges and opportunities this career has brought my way. Redesigning our company website was my first company challenge in the first quarter of 2010. In addition to this new job, I have returned to school to further my education from ASU. Only time will tell where this opportunity and challenge will take me, but I am optimistic and excited to be back in the school arena.
personally
After living in California for most my life I was offered a full transfer to work in Houston, Texas. After talking it over with my family, together we packed it up and moved it all out here. I am married and have two boys. Our oldest son is currently attending a junior community college, as well as, playing in a Men’s ice hockey league. Our younger son is attending a Prep School in Massachuettes and also playing hockey with hopes to play for a Div III school. Yes, that’s right, I am a hockey mom!! My husband Paul is currently employed as a superintendent here in Texas in the downtown area of Houston. Together, when we are not working, we enjoy traveling and being with our boys whenever they are home.
